Cookie Policy
This page describes the cookies this website uses. It is written from what the site actually does, not from a template.
It covers this website only. The alpHubs application is a separate service and is not described here.
The one cookie this site sets
This site sets a single cookie, and it exists to remember your language.
- Name: NEXT_LOCALE
- Purpose: it stores the language you are reading the site in, so the site keeps serving you that language.
- Value: a language code, en or it. Nothing else is stored in it.
- Who sets it: this website. It is a first-party cookie and no third party can read it.
- When it is set: when you choose a language with the EN / IT switcher, or when the language you are viewing is not the one your browser asks for.
- How long it lasts: the browser session. It is stored with no expiry date, so your browser deletes it when you close it.
- Category: strictly necessary and functional. It holds no identifier, it is not used to profile you or to advertise to you, and it is not shared with anyone.
Why there is no cookie banner
Consent is required for cookies that are not strictly necessary. This site sets none. NEXT_LOCALE stores a language preference and nothing else, so there is nothing to consent to and this site asks you for nothing.
If a non-essential cookie is ever introduced, a consent banner and an updated version of this page arrive in the same change. Shipping the cookie first and the banner later is exactly what this paragraph exists to prevent.
Measurement
Visits are measured with Vercel Web Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights. Both are cookieless: neither sets a cookie and neither stores an identifier on your device.
There is no Google Analytics, no Google Tag Manager, no tag manager of any kind, and no advertising or profiling tool on this site.
Third-party content
There is no third-party content embedded in these pages that could set a cookie on your device: no social plug-ins, no interactive map, no embedded video player, no chat widget.
Links to other sites, including the alpHubs application, are ordinary links. What happens after you follow one is governed by the policy of the site you arrive at.
Managing cookies
You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking NEXT_LOCALE costs you nothing: every page of this site carries its language in its own address, so the site still works and still shows the language you asked for. It simply stops remembering the choice between visits.
